My name is Asher David Edelson, and this is the blog which I created for my uncle, Barry Robins. This was a man who lived for the arts, and was famous in his time. Like so many others, Barry passed away due to AIDS complications. He lived a short life, but accomplished so much. His work and memory will continue to be famous, and he will not have died in vain. I cannot complete this alone! I need for people who knew Barry to help me expand this blog. Let us spread the word of Barry David Robins!

What a great film and Barry Robins was a wonderful talent who left us far too soon. Thank you for keeping your uncle's memory alive!
ReplyDeleteIt is my pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI DVR' this movie when they showed it on TCM and finally got around to watching it today. Was struck by how good Barry was in the film and wanted to see what else he was in. Sad to hear of his passing. My Uncle was a child actor around the same time period and was friends with a fellow child actor named Barry who passed away in the 80s... I wonder if it was your uncle? Anyways... Thanks for making this blog available!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. I am honored to run this blog and keep it available to Barry's fans.
ReplyDeleteI just saw this movie for the first time today, 24 June 2015. It really touched me and Barry's performance was very touching and effective. I did not know he had passed away from AIDS. What a tragic loss. I was a ballet dancer in NYC in the 70s and have lost a lot of friends from AIDS that i met at that time.
